This beautiful set of 4 stunning, early Victorian rococo design large candlesticks dated 1849/50 by Creswick and Co (Thomas James and Nathaniel Creswick, Sheffield). Loaded bases for stability.
Each with shaped square base with floral and alternate cartouch. The decoration continues up the fluted column, beginning with shells flowing up to a conforming floral pattern to match the floral base. The capitals continue with the flora decoration where the circular sconces have the same pattern as the columns.
All pieces have the correct and relevant hallmarks.
Creswick and Co exhibited at the Great Exhibition of 1851. A truly exceptional set of ornate candlesticks in incredible condition.
