Otto Rieth
Stunning pair of Silver German Chargers
A pair of magnificent antique German silver chargers of oval form, circa 1890.
One of the chargers has the stamp of Otto Rieth, the famous German architect, sculpture and painter
The charger plate is embellished with exceptional embossed and chased decoration with the central scenes showing intense battle scenes from the Napoleonic Wars or Waterloo (further research required). The outer rims are embellished with exotic fruits. These chargers weigh approximately 58 troy ounces and one of the plates has the mark.
It is rare to find a single charger of this quality, but to find a pair is exceedingly rare.
