A truly stunning George III Silver Epergne by Mathew Boulton, London 1810.
Reminiscent of designs by Paul Storr. A rectangular dentilated base with curved sides and chamfered corners, raised on four foliated paw feet, the centre with an acanthus leaf bud, issuing four foliate scroll arms supporting four oblong glass cut dishes, the central beaded frame chased with a band of oak leaves supported by four finely chased winged eagles supporting a large oblong central glass cut dish.
