George II Rococo Silver
Candlesticks 1759/60

Description:

An exceptional pair of George II silver cast rococo candlesticks by the renowned silversmith William Cafe.  Each with circular dome shaped bases, embossed and chased with asymmetrical scrollwork, foliage and vacant cartouch. Above acanthus leaf and scroll wrapped urn shaped lobed and knopped bodies decorated with inverted flutes with trailing foliage and scrolls in relief,interposed by trailing rose foliage matching the base.  The capital is acanthus leaves leading to the sconce that has floral foliage matching the base.

All pieces are correctly hallmarked and the candlesticks are in superb condition, dated 1759/60.
