A beautiful mid Georgian pine and gesso fire surround. The shelf under-carved rope tied at regular intervals. Under this, lambs tongue oak leaf and acorn darts. The main panel with fine beading surrounding curtain swags and ribbon ties. To either side further small panels depicting trumpets and a harp with the the goddess Nike, wings for victory and a torch for enlightenment mounted upon the Green Man's face as a symbol of rebirth. Either side are long panels of scrolling patterns of leaves and tulips.
