Exceptional Regency Rosewood and Brass Inlay
Writing / Games table Circa 1810

Description:

A fine and rare regency rosewood brass inlaid writing and games table raised on lyra-ends and finely chased lion paw casters, circa 1810 exhibited at the 9th Antique Dealers' Fair June 1949 (Probably the Grosvenor Antiques Fair).

This piece has exquisite brass inlay throughout the whole piece, being finished both on the sided and inside of the legs to the highest quality one could expect from the finest pieces of furniture of its day.

The front has 2 long drawers and a false drawer.  accessed from the top removable centre panel where on the reverse is a checker board and brass inlaid cribbage .  Inside the compartment is a finely inlaid backgammon board.

It is rare to fine such an exceptional piece in great condition for its age.
